As the temperature drops and the light fades during these glorious days of autumn flowers fade but mushrooms pop out in droves.
Montreal is home to quite a few nature parks and an arboretum and these are perfect spots to visit before the snow wipes them off for another year. 2020 seems to be bountiful in a huge number and species of fungi, on the ground and on trees. I am thrilled to find many types of mushrooms I had never seen before: amethyst coral, bird's nest mushrooms, tiny shrooms growing on a pine cone, and many many more. All of the shots you see below were taken with my Panasonic Lumix G9 + Olympus 60mm f2.8 macro lens. Some with extension tubes.
I urge you to take your macro lens, small flashlight, and a small tripod out for a walk to see what you can find before it's too late.
