I recently discovered an upgrade to my now obsolete light table. The pad is a 0.28 in. wafer thin and provides constant and uniform LED light throughout its entire surface in 3 brightness settings. I always shoot at the brightest setting and never flatten my subjects. The depth of the item shows very nicely in different tones. It's fascinating how much details we can bring out by placing naturally found objects on it - the possibilities are endless and fun to explore. It's also a great tool for blending my 2 professions: graphic design and photography.
